The Roadway Weather Information System (RWIS) is a collection of weather stations located along Pennsylvania's hiways, maintained by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). Near real time web access exists to cameras pointed at the roadway and nearby scenery / sky at these stations, which provides valueable insight into the weather and roadway conditions along the thoroughfares of the commonweath. The Pennsylvania State Climate Office has archived these webcam images since April 2004 for the viewing pleasure of the public.
