Modified Pasquil-Turner [MPT] Index
Pennsylvania Graphics
These Graphics show an objective analysis of the MPT index and the variables used to calculate it, which include incoming solar radiation and average hourly wind velocity.
Data from 21 DEP stations across Pennsylvania is used to create these graphics. Note that the MPT index should use 'net radiation' instead of net incoming radiation. Since only net incoming radiation is available from DEP sites, the maps are not created overnight when outgoing longwave radiation valus are significant, also when data from our sources is insufficent to create a good analysis.
Pay careful attention to the date/time on the graphic to make sure the data is current. The last available hour with sufficient data will be displayed below.
